This part of the state offers high mountains, deep canyons and ravines and beautiful panoramic views in all directions. Area vegetation includes mesquite, sage brush, black brush, catclaw, hackberry, desert willow, native grasses and hundreds of species of cactus. This diverse vegetation supports a large and varied number of wildlife.

There are many Indian artifact in the area just waiting for you to find them. This is a beautiful area.

The AIR IS CLEAN, the WATER IS CLEAR, and there is basically NO POLLUTION and NO CRIME here!!!

The Big Sky presents some of the Most Colorful Sunsets you will ever see. The Night Sky is so clear it will amaze you by how many stars you can see. There are no restrictions and Mobile Homes, Modular Homes, and RV's are all allowed. You can also camp on your property while you visit the sites in the area and enjoy the scenery.

Many Texans call this Texas' best-kept secret, because most Texans don't know about it, let alone most non-Texans. Nowhere in the desert southwest--not in Arizona, New Mexico, or California--will you find better country. The big difference is price. Similar land in other parts of the country sales for $1,000's per acre. This market inefficiency will not last for long. Prices in this area continue to rise as more people learn what this part of the state has to offer. Invest now while this opportunity still exists.

RECREATION

Hunting has been the primary focus on the Panther Canyon Ranch for many years. Both whitetail and mule deer flourish on the ranch and throughout this area. Terrell County has both mule deer and whitetail seasons, and is a two buck county for whitetail. If you have been searching for exceptional hunting property, Panther Canyon Ranch should definitely be considered.

Access to all tracts is by a caliche/gravel road, the road easement is 60 feet and is recorded and insured. All tracts can be accessed by a two wheel drive vehicle, however during times of excessive rains four wheel drive may be needed to access some parts of the ranch.

Panther Canyon Ranch is located in the Trans-Pecos Region of Texas. The Trans-Pecos region is the only part of Texas where mountain and desert habitats are found. This unique combination contributes to the tremendous vegetation diversity in the region, which includes at least 268 grass species and 447 species of woody plants. The vegetation diversity is also influenced by the Edwards Plateau eco-region in portions of Terrell, Pecos, and Brewster counties.

Email from Ron Stuckey, owner of  Tracts 38 & 39 Panther Canyon North:

Is that pilot gonna buy tract 39 in PC? I don’t see that it’s been listed as sold on the website. It’s a gorgeous piece of land. If he saw pics on the website and was interested enough to drive all the way fm Houston, how could he say “no?” The area is so much more beautiful when you see it in person … breathtaking views and abundant wildlife.

In just 2.5 days on our property alone we saw 11 deer (4 bucks, 6 doe, 1 fawn), a javelina herd (1 boar, 3 babies, 7 adults), dozens of quail and dove, a tarantula, oodles of lizards, road runners, buzzards, mtn lion tracks, 3 sheds (6-pt and two 8-pt), giant millipedes (6” long), fluorescent grasshoppers, frogs and tadpoles, … We also saw 15 turkeys just outside of Sanderson alg Hwy 90. Driving alg Five Mile Hill Rd is like being on safari. I’ve already booked a rm, plane ticket and rental vehicle for my next visit in Jan 05!

Do you know of anyone who does photography in Sanderson? I thought Junior, a professional photographer, would bring a nice camera and take some panoramic shots of our property, but all he brought was a video camera. Hell, I brought one of those! So, I was wondering if someone in Sanderson does weddings, etc, and would be willing to take some professional photos of my property. I shot 4 hrs of video while I was there, but I would like to have a couple scenic views enlarged, framed and displayed in my house.

Thanks in advance for your help … again!

This diversity of plat life contributes to the truly outstanding hunting found in Terrell County and Panther Canyon Ranch. Although not as well known as many other areas of the state for hunting, Terrell County offers a wide and abundant variety of game including whitetail deer, mule deer, javelina, turkey, blue quail dove and mountain lions. Black bear, a protected species is also found in this region of Texas.

These mule deer were killed in November 2003 on the portion of the ranch the owner kept south of Bullis Gap Road.

Hikers will find Washboard Canyon an ideal place to roam, with numerous Indian rock shelters and campsites to explore. Views on the ranch are spectacular, you can see the mountains of old Mexico and Big Bend National Park from every tract on the ranch.
